Science Advisory Committee

The objectives of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) are to advise Sitka Sound Science Center (SSSC) on:
  1. Promoting SSSC as a destination for conducting field research and community engagement in Alaska
  2. Developing an SSSC research portfolio through collaborations and in-house research
  3. Ensuring that the work done at the SSSC is recognized for its quality and value to the community
For each of these goals, the SAC will:
  1. Help to identify groups that could use and or benefit from using SSSC as a research platform
  2. Advise SSSC on emerging global scientific questions relevant to Sitka and Alaska and help prioritize our direction with respect to those issues
  3. Provide feedback on the research programs pursued by the SSSC
